• 1987 Student Timecapsule

Dunbar students created a timecapsule in 1987, a snapshot of their lives and memories meant to be discovered on Dunbar's centennial. They sealed their treasures in a steel cylinder, burying it under a concrete slab for safekeeping. While water managed to sneak in and cause some damage, the contents still tell a story of creativity, fun, and pride in their school.

Here’s what are some of the things they wanted to share with the future: a handmade class yearbook filled with portraits and drawings, Garbage Pail Kids trading cards (a playful nod to pop culture), a carefully chosen favorite rock, an 'I ❤️ Dunbar' button, and an audio cassette with a message from the class
